Magnet status for Novant Health

The American Nurses Credentialing Center recognizes the nursing programs at five Novant Health hospitals for their excellence and quality in nursing care. These five hospitals join a select national group that has achieved Magnet status.

Novant Health

  • 2011 and 2006 – Awarded the President’s Award from Professional Research Consultants (PRC), a nationally recognized healthcare research company. This top award recognizes one organization or individual a year that makes a significant contribution to healthcare service excellence. Novant is the only hospital to win the President’s Award twice.
  • 2011 – Novant Health ranked 14th nationally among the 2011 Top 100 Healthcare Networks.
  • 2010 – The national HealthLeaders Media organization honored Novant Health with the 2010 Top Leadership Teams in Healthcare Award for large hospitals and health systems, celebrating outstanding teamwork.
  • 2010 – The Carolinas Minority Supplier Development Council honored Novant Health as Public-Private Sector Organization of the Year, recognizing our commitment to minority business purchasing, technical and managerial assistance to enterprises and volume of business opportunities dedicated to minority companies.
  • 2010 – Carolina Parenting Inc. (Carolina Parent, Piedmont Parent and Charlotte Parent magazines) named Novant Health to the Family-Friendly 50 list, in recognition of making life easier for working parents through flexible policies and family-friendly benefits.
  • 2008 and 2004 – Novant Health twice earned the Ernest A. Codman award from The Joint Commission for improving the quality and safety of care: in 2004 for improving care for patients taking blood-thinning medications and in 2008 for preventing MRSA infections with hand hygiene.
