New Grad Residency Program
We have many programs in place to help you transition into healthcare and into Novant Health.
Novant Health’s RN New Grad Residency Program will allow new graduate RNs time to gradually assume the duties and responsibilities that accompany the nursing role, under the direction and guidance of a preceptor and other members of the healthcare team. The program also assures alignment with the Institute of Medicine's (IOM) recommendations for advancing the future of nursing practice.
We will hire into the residency program three times per year.
Additional details are as follows:
- Applicants MUST complete the online application entirely AND include a resume listing three specific areas for consideration (i.e. pulmonary, neuro ICU, Emergency Department, Labor & Delivery, etc.) as well as facilities. Novant Health facilities offering this program are as follows:
- Greater Winston-Salem market

- RN new grads will not be allowed to start orientation without a valid RN license.
- A commitment agreement must be signed before starting orientation.
- Current BLS Certification from the American Heart Association is required before starting orientation.
- Internal employees must also complete a transfer request to be considered for this program.

Program 1
- Program 1 started on 3/5/12. We are no longer accepting applications for this program.
Program 2
- Program start date is 7/23/12.
- Applications will be accepted from 3/12/12 through 4/20/12.
- Nurse Managers will have interviews completed by 6/1/12. All offers will be extended to RN New Grads by 6/15/12. All RN New Grads will start orientation on 7/23.
- In order to be eligible for start date of 7/23/12, applicants must have a verifiable NC or multistate RN license by 7/13/12.

Program 3
- Program start date is 10/29/12.
- Applications will be accepted from 6/1/12 through 7/13/12.
- Nurse Managers will have interviews completed by 8/24/12. All offers will be extended to RN New Grads by 9/14/12. All RN New Grads will start orientation on 10/15.
- In order to be eligible for start date of 10/29/12, applicants must have a verifiable NC or multistate RN license by 10/5/12.
